Eternal Flame Falls

Located just outside of Buffalo, NY, this beautiful waterfall resides in Shale Creek Preserve. To see the falls requires hiking a 1.5 mile trail that isn’t on the easiest trails to hike list. However, the photos and experience would be more than worth it to capture this natural gas leak that creates one of the most beautiful wonders in nature. Once you’re done soaking in the beautiful nature of the preserve, there are tons of local food options, a casino, botanical gardens and the Ralph Wilson Stadium all within 10 miles of the park.

Providence, Rhode Island

Just three hours away, this state capital is as beautiful as it is culturally rich. Described as having a ‘buzzing’ dining scene, Providence is the home to Brown University, the Roger Williams Park Zoo, the RISD Museum and an amazing art scene that is integral to the local culture. A must-see while you’re in Providence is the WaterFire Event pictured above, where a local not-for-profit organization uses events and art to generate a sense of community and bring people together.
