History of Acura

Born in 1986, Acura was formed by dedicated and passionate Honda engineers as the luxury division of the Honda Motor Co. The brand launched as the first Luxury automobile brand from Japan with two models: the Integra and the Legend.

Called “The best sports car ever built” by Motor Trend, the Acura NSX made waves in the supercar industry when it was released in 1989. The sports car became extremely popular for the fact that it could both compete on a race track and be driven every day.

In 2000, Acura launched the MDX. As the first ever crossover SUV with three-row seating, this Acura model turned the auto industry on its head once more.
